empire of light
Magritte's Empire of Light (L’Empire des lumières) has been one of my favorite paintings for a long time, probably since catching that Magritte show at UCLA so many years ago. It's surrealism, but more aligned with the beauty and wit of the movement (like Man Ray), than the chaos and Dadaism of Breton and Dali. Fits in nicely with my own continuing theme of noticing the beautifully absurd life all around us.
So it's appropriate that last week while i was out and about, being a good consumerism at a local box store, i noticed a skyscape worth testing out my new camera on. Not worthy of the Guggenheim, but i like it just the same...

Those are lovely! Very nice.
With football season beginning soon, I'm hoping to finally start getting my new camera outdoors a bit. Poor thing has been so neglected so far. :(
