i took the weekend off, and i needed it. Off at this point being anything other than working. A few weeks ago i took on a huge project, probably against my better judgement, but for valid and important reasons. i don't mind the huge aspect of it, but the timeline is terrible. So here i am, about 2/3 of the way through, looking down that last stretch. I'll be working on it constantly the next 7-10 days, especially since the kids will be out of town to their grandparents' house. it's not so much that i'm tired, just sick of this particular beast and the burdens it brings.

Have you ever seen The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner? It's that last long shot, where he's running towards the finish line, after such a long time training and preparing for that moment. And then he stops short, and quits, or collapses. I think he was rebelling against the system that was driving him to finish. It's been a long time since i've seen it. Always loved that title though.
